$30 per person,
for 50 years.

Our goal is to provide every individual in the Democratic Republic of Congo with 30 to 40 litres of water per day, ensuring that the distance to the nearest distribution point never exceeds a 20-minute walk.

Water management

To avoid waste, water is sold to the community at a very affordable price. Revenue from water sales funds the fountain attendants and maintenance of the system.

Our commitment to SDG 6 of the United Nations

UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 is crucial for the future of our planet. It aims to ensure universal access to clean water and sanitation. Yet today, billions of people around the world still do not have access to safe water, devastating their health, education, and economic development.

NGO Eau Sauve is firmly committed to making a difference by responding to this global challenge — developing affordable water purification systems, reducing waterborne diseases, supporting children's education, and stimulating the economic development of disadvantaged communities.

By joining NGO Eau Sauve, you become a key player in achieving SDG 6 — helping to build a world where water means life, hope, and opportunity for all. Join us today to help create a better future for the generations to come.

Transforming Lives in DRC

NGO Eau Sauve works tirelessly to bring meaningful change to the lives of vulnerable communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Thanks to our unwavering commitment to water access, we have already transformed the lives of thousands of people.

In many areas where we work, residents were previously forced to walk long distances to find water, exposing their families to deadly diseases. Thanks to our water supply projects, these communities now have easy access to clean, safe water. Children can go to school regularly instead of spending hours fetching water. Waterborne disease rates have fallen sharply, and families can now look forward to a healthier, more productive future.

With your support, we can reach even more lives and continue this vital mission.

Our commitment

NGO Eau Sauve is committed to providing access to drinking water and sanitation in the peri-urban, rural and isolated regions of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in accordance with UN Sustainable Development Goal 6.1.

We use groundwater technology to ensure water quality, pumping water from solar-powered boreholes. This water is then distributed to communities via secure tap stands. Our installations typically serve 2,000 to 5,000 people and are designed to be durable and adapted to local needs.

Partnership with local businesses

Beyond providing immediate access to clean water, we take a long-term approach to solving the water crisis. We work in partnership with local businesses to enable the local population to benefit from affordable water services.

Tariffs are consistent with local incomes, ensuring that access to clean water remains affordable for everyone. The management of local networks is handled by elected village citizens, with a preference for women — contributing to gender equality and reducing the burden of water collection.

Clean water for everyone

Our goal is to meet the fundamental needs of the population for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene, ensuring that access to these services is not a financial obstacle.

We work in collaboration with other private and public actors to ensure that every person can benefit from the clean water essential for a healthy, fulfilling life.

How we make a difference

UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 aims to guarantee universal access to clean water and sanitation by 2030.

NGO Eau Sauve is fully committed to achieving this goal. By investing in sanitation and water access, we create opportunities for the most vulnerable communities to lead healthier, better lives.

Our unique approach relies on the use of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to purify water and manage waste in an ecological way — ensuring not only the availability of clean water but also the preservation of local ecosystems. By training community members in hygiene practices and building modern sanitation facilities, we help prevent disease and improve quality of life.

Equal in dignity, different in context

Sustainable sanitation in Africa is essential for health, dignity and development. It reduces waterborne diseases, preserves the environment, restores dignity by offering private toilets, and frees up time for education and work.

Investing in sanitation in Africa improves the lives of millions of people and builds a better future.

Our commitment

At NGO Eau Sauve, our commitment does not stop at simply providing clean water. We firmly believe in the autonomy of the communities we serve. That is why we invest in the education of village residents in every area where we work.

We organise education programmes on hygiene, raising families' awareness of the sanitary practices that save lives.

Knowledge is the key

We encourage permaculture and sustainable agriculture, teaching communities how to grow their own food in an environmentally responsible way.

We believe that acquiring this knowledge is the key to improving quality of life in the long term and securing a better future for generations to come. Together, we work to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

Agri-food projects as a driver of growth

Our agri-food initiatives have a primary mission: to stimulate economic growth and reduce inequalities within communities. The vegetable gardens — true sources of vitality and autonomy for the villages — are managed by locally elected citizens and supervised by NGO Eau Sauve.

By establishing and guiding these green projects, we are not simply growing produce — we are sowing the seeds of change and of empowerment in village communities, creating an environment in which they can flourish independently and sustainably.

A bridge between the land and urban markets

The Cooperative, the fourth strategic objective of NGO Eau Sauve, plays a crucial role in this growth mechanism. By buying harvests and selling them in the city, the Cooperative not only guarantees a stable market for local farmers' produce but also establishes a vital link with urban markets.

The profits generated are not simply retained but redistributed primarily to the villages — offering a stable source of income for communities while enabling ongoing and future agricultural projects to be reinvested in and sustained.

Towards greater village prosperity

The growing prosperity of the villages is an eloquent testament to the positive impact of our initiatives. Prosperity is not seen simply through a financial lens — it is equally expressed through a tangible improvement in communities' standard of living, a strengthening of social cohesion, and a greater capacity for communities to take their future into their own hands.

The model developed by NGO Eau Sauve, through the Cooperative, proves to be a significant step towards community autonomy and empowerment — establishing a reality in which local economic growth and social wellbeing are inextricably linked.
